Guy Sebastian fails to recognise former X Factor contestant Vendulka Wichta on The Voice

He is no stranger to judging up-and-coming singers, thanks to his lengthy stint on The X Factor and his current coaching role on The Voice. 

But Guy Sebastian left viewers of The Voice confused during Tuesday's episode when he failed to mention he already knew contestant Vendulka Wichta. 

Vendulka had auditioned in front of Guy on The X Factor in 2012, prompting fans to speculate that she'd been snubbed after he didn't seem to recognise her.

Vendulka auditioned for The X Factor back in 2012, when she was just 14 years old.  

She impressed the panel, made up of Guy, Ronan Keating, Mel B and Natalie Bassingthwaighte, at her first audition and made it all the way to the Judges' Houses before being eliminated.  

Hoping for her second shot at musical success, Vendulka sailed through her blind audition on The Voice, choosing Boy George as her coach.

Boy George, who was the lead singer of Culture Club, was left so impressed with Vendulka's version of his track that he jumped up on stage to sing with her. 

He told her: 'What you just did I didn't think was possible. I was like, "Hold on a second, what is she singing?" You gave it a lovely blues flavour and soul.'  

The Voice airs Sunday 7pm and Monday and Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
